New and Continuing Student Information

Welcome Fall 2017 IEC students!

IEC is ready to begin the Fall B session.  Many of our current students continued from the Summer session, and we are looking forward to helping our new students get settled and to have a good time here at the ALI and SDSU.  Please read through this blog to find information about your program and how you can succeed as a student. If you have questions, please send us an email, and we will try to answer your questions quickly.

Please check back often for updates about orientation testing and registration.
We look forward to seeing you !

ORIENTATION: The next IEC orientation will be for the start of Fall B, on Monday, October 16th.  New students should plan to arrive at the ALI by 8:15 am. You will be busy with testing and orientation activities on Monday and Tuesday. Classes will start classes on Wednesday. You will get a more detailed orientation schedule when you arrive.

TESTING:  During Orientation, you will take placement tests. These tests include writing, reading, listening and speaking. We will use your test scores to determine your general level, and class level placement. Please note:  the IEC program does not consider TOEFL or IELTS scores in your general level determination.

REGISTRATION:  You will pay tuition during Orientation. Health insurance is now included with the basic tuition.

SCHEDULE HANDOUT: All students, new and continuing, will be given their Fall B class schedule between 8:30-9:00am on Monday, October 18th. Classes will begin at 9am on Wednesday, October 18th.

NEW SCHEDULE:  The IEC program has changed to a new schedule in 2017. Classes will run Monday-Thursday from 9:00am-2:45pm.  Friday elective classes will remain 9:30am-12:15pm.

SPRING SESSION SIGN-UP DEADLINES: If you are interested in staying for the Spring A 2018 session (and have only registered for Fall), you can apply online to continue. If you have questions, you can ask at the Front Desk of the ALI office.
