BAFoGs and Learning Agreements will be accepted starting Tuesday, September 12th. If you need instructions on how to complete these documents, please visit the ALI office. Please put your RED ID on the document, priority will be given to documents with a RED ID.

These documents should be submitted to the ALI office. You will also pick up the document at the ALI office.
If you submit your document by 4:30pm, September 12th, you may pick up the completed document after 12:00pm, September 22nd. Documents submitted on or after September 13th may be picked up two weeks after the date of submission.

Additional unit fees (if applicable) must be paid before any BAFoG is returned.

Health Insurance Information

Click here for instructions on how to print an insurance card. Students that have paid by mid-July will able to obtain this. Other students will have to wait a few days longer after payment was received.

A Message about Student Involvement

Dear Semester at SDSU Students:

In addition to a wide variety of activities organized by the American Language Institute and many on-campus SDSU events, you will have access to hundreds of student organizations. Each has a specific area of focus and conducts regular meetings and activities.

While international students are not eligible to participate in Greek organizations (called fraternities and sororities) and sports clubs, other student organizations are very happy to have foreign students participate in their programs. In fact, they really appreciate the range of perspectives that international students can share.

One student group that has an international perspective is the Global Aztec Alliance. Their Buddy Program pairs students from abroad with local students. Each can learn from the other and international students can get a little help with understanding life in Southern California. Semester at SDSU students who are interested in being paired with a local student can sign up for the Buddy Program here. Please realize that they can’t guarantee they will have a buddy for everyone who signs up.

Fall Safety Message from the Chief of Police, SDSU Police Department

On behalf of the University Police Department, welcome to the new semester.  Your safety is our top priority.  We encourage you to review the following safety information and reminders.

  • Call 9-1-1 from your cell phone or any campus phone to report a crime in progress or life-threatening emergency. “Blue Light” emergency phones are located throughout campus and can be used for reporting emergencies.
  • Call 619-594-1991 to report non-emergencies or to contact the police department.
  • Be aware of your surroundings and avoid distractions such as talking on your cell phone. Walk in groups whenever possible and report suspicious activity by calling 9-1-1.
  • Aztec Shield App is a free app for text and video reporting of crimes and other police-related issues.  You may download this app from your app store.
  • Secure your belongings by locking your doors and windows, including properly locking your bike and keeping valuables out of sight.
  • Free bicycle U-locks are available when you register your bike at the SDSU Police Department.
  • Do not leave valuables unattended such as backpacks, laptops or cellphones.
  • Use the Safety Escort Service available from dusk to dawn to and from on-campus locations by calling 619-594-6659.  The SDSU library shuttle also operates from the library to any on-campus location or parking area.
  • SDSU Alert is the primary way the campus communicates during emergencies.  You may register to receive emergency text messages at

The University Police Department is located at the intersection of 55th Street and Remington Road, across from the Aztec Recreation Center.

The police department is operational 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Parking Permit Information for Semester at Students

If you wish to purchase a parking permit for the fall 2017 semester, the permit cost is $168. You will need the vehicle license number, make, and model to purchase one.

You may purchase a semester parking permit in person at the Parking Services office, located at the Public Safety building.

How to Order Your Official SDSU Transcript – Grades

Hepner Hall at SDSUPlease read the following information carefully about how to get your grades from your SDSU and Special Session classes.

Go to your UNOFFICIAL TRANSCRIPTS in WebPortal to check that your grades are posted and accurate BEFORE ordering OFFICIAL TRANSCRIPTS.  Your grades should be officially posted after May 17, 2017.  (Grades appearing on Blackboard are NOT your official posted grades.)


You can print unofficial transcripts from the SDSU WebPortal as soon as your grades are posted. Check WebPortal, not Blackboard. You may receive an error message on the Unofficial Transcript until May 31st.


You can order official transcripts directly through WebPortal (again, WebPortal, not Blackboard) for a fee of $10.00 each.

To request your official transcripts, go to WebPortal and click on “Order Transcripts.”  Select your desired format and click “continue.”

Transcripts will be sent to the address you indicate. It is your responsibility to enter a complete and accurate address. You should check with your university prior to ordering transcripts to make sure you have the complete and correct address. Paper transcripts will be mailed after the grades are posted and should arrive 6-8 weeks from the send date (the earliest send date may be in the middle of June), but can take longer depending on mail delivery in your home country.


You can order official electronic transcripts directly through WebPortal (again, WebPortal, not Blackboard) for a fee of $10.00 each.

To request your official transcripts, go to WebPortal and click on “Order Transcripts.” Select your desired format and click “continue.”

WARNING: Do NOT order electronic transcripts until your grades have been officially posted or you will receive a blank transcript. If you cannot print an unofficial transcript, your grades have not been posted.  (Check the Unofficial Transcript, NOT My Grades) If you order an electronic transcript too early and receive a blank document, you will have to reorder and pay again.

Transcripts will be sent to the email address you indicate. It is your responsibility to enter a complete and accurate email address, and to ensure that the recipient is able to accept PDF documents.  You should check with your university prior to ordering transcripts to make sure that they will accept PDF documents, and for the complete and correct e-mail address. Also, you must open the electronic PDF transcript in Adobe Acrobat, NOT in a web browser, since it is a secure document.


All transcripts will say “Undergraduate transcript.” Graduate classes are designated by a course number level 600 and above. We can send you a letter stating you were enrolled as a graduate student if a problem arises.


You will continue to be able to access WebPortal with your Red ID and password for many years; however, you will not have Blackboard access after this semester has finished.  Therefore, if you expect to need documents from Blackboard, such as course syllabi, I strongly advise that you download and save or print them now.  It will be difficult and time-consuming to obtain these documents after the semester ends.

Please contact the Transcript Unit ( if you have any questions regarding your paper transcript or if your transcript does not arrive 6-8 weeks from the sent date (meaning it could arrive in the middle of August). You should receive a confirmation from the registrar’s office once your order has been sent.
